I have been just one of many people to bring up a suggestion about this topic. I am also one of many people who likes having their public quicknotes turned off, but the problem is that we can't see who has logged into both the site, and to Zone by Phone, and I would like to be able to see that, even with publics off. Sometimes, I am waiting for a particulat user to log in, and it can be annoying to scan through the entire list every time I refresh the page to see if they have looged in, so, my suggestion is to have this feature enabled to everyone, and not just to people with their publics on. Thanks.
Let me put the counterpoint, as it were. When I'm logged in with publics turned off, it's generally cos I'm doing something else but want to be available if people want to find me. The quicknotes console is my friend, and I only want it to interrupt me for private qn and mail (though points are also nice!) Having alerts for people logging in and out would mean having to refresh the console to get rid of information I don't want.
but not everyone uses the concil. and yeah, I agree that having the list of people who log in displayed even if publics are off might be a good thing. but at other times it can get annoying as well, maybe a combo option to toggle logins and other stuff like that.
Yeah the toggle idea would be cool!! then you would have the choice!
we want to do it, but it will require a bit of reworking. But it will come at some point.
Maybe it could be tied into the person watch feature? You know, if you are watching for a specific user, you could put them on person watch and the site would notify you if that particular person logged in. that way people like Dusty wouldn't have to see everytime somebody logged in or out, but you'd still know when a specific somebody was around, or had left.
Just a thought anyway.
